US pay-television channel Fox Soccer acquired exclusive live rights for Australia’s National Rugby League and the regional State of Origin series in a two-year deal, from 2012 to 2013.
Live coverage of two matches per week will be broadcast on Fox Soccer and Fox Soccer Plus. A 30-minute highlights programme will also be shown.
The deal further expands international coverage of the domestic championship in 2012 beyond the home markets of Australia and New Zealand. Live coverage will also be available in Canada, the UK, France, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
