The deal, announced yesterday, covers the pay-television rights across Latin America excluding Brazil and also includes the rights for Uefa’s second-tier club competition, the Europa League.
The sales processes for the US, Canadian and Brazilian rights are moving to a second round later this week, with ESPN and Fox competing in those territories also. In the existing three-year deals, Champions League rights across the whole of the Americas generate about $15m a year.
