Fox International Channels appoints Rutten to new role

The Fox International Channels (FIC) broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox has appointed Frank Rutten as executive vice-president of its operations in Europe and Africa.

Rutten will combine his new role with existing duties as managing director of pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports in the Netherlands. He will also continue to be based in the Dutch city of Amsterdam.

A former general director of Dutch Eredivisie top-tier football club Roda JC Kerkrade, Rutten in 2005 joined the board of Eredivisie CV, a limited partnership that unites all 18 clubs in the Dutch top flight.

In 2008, Rutten also joined the board of Eredivisie Media & Marketing (EMM), the company that operates the corporate media and sponsorship rights on behalf of Eredivisie teams.

In 2012, FIC acquired a majority stake in EMM.
