Fox Sports signs deal with Barclays Center for college basketball contests

The Barclays Center sports and entertainment arena has agreed a deal with the Fox Sports division of US network Fox for the rights to its upcoming Brooklyn Hoops college basketball season.

Under the terms of the deal, pay-television channel Fox Sports 1 will televise five games from the series, beginning with Kentucky’s game against Providence on December 1.

Coverage will continue on December 21 when 2013 NCAA tournament finalist Michigan plays Stanford to headline the second annual Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational event.

Fox Sports 1 will also televise three games from the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival on December 28.

Larry Jones, executive vice-president of Fox Sports, said: “College basketball is a key component of Fox Sports 1's programming from November through March, and we're looking forward to televising these five games from one of the country's newest, most impressive venues.”
