The Fox International Channels (FIC) broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox is to launch local versions of pay-television channel Fox Sports in Colombia and Uruguay.
Fox International Channels president Carlos Martinez told the Ovación news service that the new channels have been in the pipeline for two years and will be launched in the first quarter of 2014.
The channels will follow the same model as Fox Sports’ regionally-focused channels in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico. The channels will show local sports and feature local journalists and specific programmes for the markets in addition to the regular schedule.
