France Télévisions commits to broad Paralympics coverage

Public-service broadcaster France Télévisions has confirmed it will show more than 100 hours of live coverage of the 2016 summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

France Télévisions will broadcast the opening and closing ceremonies as well as a live daily show during the event, from September 7-18.

The coverage will be available on the France 2 and France 4 channels from 7pm to 4pm CET.

The broadcaster was criticised for its lack of coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The only channel that showed daily coverage of the Games was regional broadcaster TV8 Mont Blanc, which is not available on a nationwide basis.
