France Télévisions gets in the saddle for home MotoGP race

French public-service broadcaster France Télévisions has agreed a deal to cover the country’s round of the 2016 MotoGP motorcycling championship.

The Grand Prix de France at Le Mans, the fifth round of the MotoGP season, will be broadcast live by the France 3 channel on May 8.

The race has previously been covered by commercial broadcaster TF1’s digital-terrestrial channel NT1, but the 2016 event had been without a presence on free-to-air television.

Eurosport France, the French arm of pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport, holds the rights to MotoGP in the French territory until the end of the 2017 season.
