FreeSports launches streaming service in the UK

Digital terrestrial channel FreeSports is now available as an ad-funded streaming service in the UK, the company said today (Thursday).

The FreeSports Online Player, which will operate 24/7 in HD quality, includes a seven-day on-demand feature and an option to add FreeSport’s parent company Premier Sports’s two premium channels as well as LaLigaTV.

Premier Sports acquired exclusive linear and digital rights in the UK and Ireland to Spanish football’s LaLiga last September for the three seasons from 2019-20 to 2021-22.

The service will be available through PCs, Apple and Android devices. It can also be cast to a Fire TV/Fire Stick, Apple TV, smart TVs or Chromecast.

FreeSports is distributed linearly in the UK on the Sky, BT and Virgin Media platform as well as Freeview HD and Freesat.

Premier Sports operates a subscription-based streaming platform in the UK, Premier Player.
