Globo teams up with Olympic Channel

Brazilian media company Globo has struck a content partnership with the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Channel.

The long-term agreement begins in August and runs until 2032. Globo has rights to the Olympics in Brazil until 2032.

Viewers will be given the chance to watch Olympic Channel original programming, as well as Olympic-related content from Globo during Olympic Channel-branded programming hours on Globo’s free-to-air shows, such as Esporte Espectacular.

Content will also be available on the SporTV pay-television broadcaster and on a dedicated Olympic Channel digital portal on globoesporte.com. Programming will include year-round coverage of Olympic sports and athletes with a focus on locally-relevant content produced by both the Olympic Channel and Globo.

The Olympic Channel launched following the conclusion of the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
