US pay-television channel GolTV has signed rights deals with Portuguese Primeira Liga football club Benfica and English Premier League club Everton.
Under the agreement with the reigning Portuguese champion, GolTV will broadcast all of Benfica’s home games for two years, from 2014-15 to 2015-16.
Benfica exploits its broadcast rights in-house through its pay-television channel Benfica TV.
The terms of GolTV’s deal with Everton were not disclosed, but the US broadcaster will provide a three-hour block of programming from its in-house media platform, Everton TV, which will include a game broadcast and associated pre and post-match content.
