GT Series bolsters broadcast coverage ahead of new season

SRO Motorsports, promoter of the GT Series motor-racing organisation, has agreed a host of new broadcast deals ahead of the start of the 2014 season.

Pan-European broadcaster Eurosport will offer highlights of all races from the Endurance Series and Sprint Series. In addition, the Sprint events in Brands Hatch, Slovakiaring and Baku will be covered live. This will also be the case for the showpiece event of the Endurance Series, the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Pay-television broadcaster BT Sport becomes SRO Motorsports’ new partner for the UK market. BT Sport will provide live reports of the Sprint Series, along with highlights of all Endurance Series events.

SRO Motorsports has renewed its agreement with RTL. The German commercial broadcaster will provide highlights of GT Series races ahead of its qualifying coverage of the Formula One motor-racing series.

Italian state broadcaster Rai Sports has also extended its deal for highlights to the Endurance Series and Sprint Series, while commercial broadcaster Rede Bandeirantes has joined pay-television channel SporTV Globo as a new partner in Brazil.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The 2014 GT Series season commences with an Endurance Series event in Monza, Italy this weekend.
