Guinness joins forces with English and Welsh rugby unions

Guinness has agreed new partnerships with the Welsh Rugby Union and the English Rugby Football Union.

Guinness has agreed to a new three-year partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), while it has also sealed a four-year deal with the English Rugby Football Union (RFU).

Under the agreement with the WRU, Guinness will remain as an official partner of the Welsh union until at least 2016. The global drinks brand has also been awarded principal partner status by the WRU, joining Admiral, Brains Beer, Heineken, Powerade, Seat and Under Armour.

Guinness first began its association with Welsh rugby in 2010 and the extension of this partnership will ensure the continuation of joint efforts by Guinness and the WRU to deliver engaging international match day experiences for supporters and visitors to the Welsh national ground, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Meanwhile, the RFU has named Guinness as the official beer of England Rugby. The new enhanced four-year partnership will commence from September 1. Guinness will also continue its promotion of responsible drinking by maintaining its designation as official responsible drinking partner of England Rugby.
