Hotstar to live stream cricket’s Ranji Trophy

Hotstar, the video streaming platform owned and operated by pay-television broadcaster Star Sports, has agreed a deal to live stream the 2017-18 edition of India’s Ranji Trophy club cricket tournament.

Hotstar will stream coverage on an exclusive basis, beginning with the qualifying stage of the competition, according to the Indian Television website.

The 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, the 84th season of the contest, began on October 6 and features 28 regional teams from across India. The final matches will take place from December 29 until January 2.

Indian cricket stars Ravichandran Ashwin (pictured), Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay are among the players taking part this season.
