The International Biathlon Union (IBU), the sport’s global governing body, has invited companies to express an interest in bidding for the next cycle of worldwide rights for its events.
Interested parties must request the tender documents in writing from the IBU by January 4, 2013. The documents will then be sent out to qualified companies by the IBU on January 7.
The rights cover four years, from 2014-15 to 2017-18, but the IBU has reserved the right to agree a shorter or longer deal.
The tender will cover television, internet and mobile platforms, the governing body added.
The rights on offer include all of the governing body’s events, including the IBU World Cup, World Championships and Open European Championships as well as the IBU Cup, Junior World Championships and Summer Biathlon World Championships.
