IJF pins down extension with Japanese agency

The International Judo Federation has agreed a four-year extension to its partnership with Japanese agency Hakuhodo DY Media Partners.

The new contract, which covers broadcast rights and specific marketing rights to IJF events, is now set to run through to the end of 2020.

Kenichiro Yokomizo, general manager of the sports division at Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, said: “We do want to promote judo globally. We believe that through our partnership we can achieve that goal.

“We want to put at the service of judo our professionalism and our common values to define new ways of promoting the sport, especially in the digital area. This partnership will be an example for judo as well as for other sports worldwide.”
