IMG acquires airline and cruise ship rights to Euro 2012

The IMG agency has acquired rights to broadcast live coverage of the Uefa Euro 2012 football tournament to airline and cruise ship passengers.

The live coverage will be broadcast by IMG on its Sport24 channel, the live sports channel it produces for the airline and cruise ship industries. Sport24 will show all 31 games from the tournament which begins on June 8.

Sport 24 was launched earlier this year as the world’s first in-flight global sports channel on the Bahrain state airline, Gulf Air. IMG has also struck a deal for the channel to be carried on cruise ships operated by US company Norwegian Cruise Line, from March 1.

IMG Media produces the programming for channel from its London base.
