IMG Media to sell extreme sports series rights

The IMG Media agency has agreed a deal to distribute media rights to the International Festival of Extreme Sport (Fise) World Series on a global basis.

The agreement will run for seven years, from 2014 to 2020. IMG Media struck the deal with Hurricane, the series’ organiser.

The inaugural Fise World Series, an expansion of the current annual competition in Montpellier, France, will feature four events in 2014 and six in 2015.

The first event to take place this year, in late May, will once again be staged in Montpellier, with new events then following in Andorra in June, Malaysia and Chengdu in China in September and October, respectively.

IMG will distribute live coverage and highlights of the events in Montpellier, Malaysia and Chengdu and highlights of the Andorra event. IMG will also distribute coverage via EDGEsport, the agency’s 24-hour premium action sports channel.

The series will include professional and amateur categories across the disciplines of BMX, skateboard, mountain bike slopestyle, wakeboarding and rollerblading.
