Indian race circuit promoter acquires World Superbike rights

Jaypee Sports International, promoters of India’s Buddh International Circuit, has acquired the Indian broadcast rights to the newly instated Indian round of the World Superbike Championship, which is operated by Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, the international motorcycling federation.

The circuit promoter agreed a four-year deal, from 2013 to 2016, with the Infront Sports & media agency, which distributes the series’ worldwide media rights on behalf of the federation.

Jaypee Sports International will market the rights for the main race from the Indian Grand Prix, plus the support races which take place over the race weekend, to Indian broadcasters. Under the deal, the circuit promoter will also distribute non-exclusive rights in India to all other races from the championship series.

The Indian Grand Prix makes its debut on the World Superbike Championship calendar in 2013.
