The Infront Sports & Media agency launched a tender for the media rights in Denmark, Norway and Sweden for the 2016 and 2018 editions of the men’s and women’s European Championship handball events.
The rights for the four events cover free-to-air and pay-television, cable, satellite, IPTV, internet and mobile platforms. Infront will sell the rights on a territory-by-territory basis.
The 2016 men’s championship will run from January 17-31, with Sweden and Norway among four bidders for the event’s hosting rights, along with Croatia and Poland. Sweden is up against Turkey for the right to host the 2016 women’s championship, which is scheduled for December 4-18. The dates for the men’s and women’s events in 2018 are yet to be announced.
The championships are organised by the European Handball Federation, the sport’s governing body. Infront is the governing body’s worldwide marketing and media partner.
