ITN Productions hires Formula E executive to drive sports business

ITN Productions has appointed Tim Godfrey as partnerships director within its sports production business as the company seeks to build its presence in the sector.

Godfrey (pictured) will join ITN Productions from the Formula E electric car-racing championship, where he served as head of media, overseeing media strategy across rights, content creation, broadcast and distribution. He will assume his new role on December 1.

Godfrey previously worked for the Perform Group, where he was responsible for newsgathering and product development for the Omnisports news service. Prior to that, Godfrey also held senior positions at Endemol Sport and Setanta Sports.

“The expansion of ITNP’s activity in sport has come just at the right time and we are getting a terrific response from existing and prospective clients around the world,” Alastair Waddington, director of sport at ITN Productions, said. “I’m delighted to welcome Tim back to ITN – his multi-platform experience is tailor-made to help us develop new partnerships across the evolving breadth of sports media.”
