ITV picks up World Boxing Super Series rights

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has acquired rights for the inaugural season of the World Boxing Super Series through an agreement with the MP & Silva agency.

The series begins on September 9 and will comprise 16 elite boxers competing across 14 different fight nights.

ITV will show the super middleweight and cruiserweight tournaments through its free-to-air and pay-per-view platforms.

The series' second quarter-final night, featuring British boxer Callum Smith’s (right of picture) fight against Sweden’s Erik Skoglund, will be showcased on the ITV4 channel on September 16.

Other British fighters set to compete include George Groves, Jamie Cox and Chris Eubank Jr.

The winner in each division of the World Boxing Super Series will be crowned in May 2018.
