Irish telecommunications company Eir has appointed Glen Killane as its first managing director of Eir television and sport.
Killane, who was previously managing director of television at Irish public-service broadcaster RTÉ, will lead the company’s new television operations, including Eir Sport, the new name for Setanta.
Killane also served as group head of RTÉ Sport from 2004 to 2010.
Last week, Eir launched its new sports-focused television services, including six sports channels.
