Sport365, the news television channel of French media company Media365, will launch on September 15.
The channel will be available on French cable and IPTV platforms Numericable, Free and Orange, along with satellite and digital-terrestrial television service CanalSat. Media365 founder Patrick Chêne said that Sport365 planned to offer a “complementary focus” on sport.
He added: “We are very ambitious. Our channel broadcast in HD will be chic and elegant but our position is not in front of the two major players in place today.”
Sport365 has been formed after telecommunications company Orange in May agreed a deal for its sports news channel, Orange Sport Info, to be operated by Media365.
