Le Sports, which is operated by Chinese internet company LeEco, has agreed a three-year deal for the exclusive digital media rights in China to the International Basketball Federation’s (Fiba) Stanković Continental Champions’ Cup national team tournament.
The Yutang Sports website said Le Sports has acquired rights to the editions of the annual competition held from 2016 to 2018.
The deal will enable Chinese basketball fans to access live games through PCs or mobile devices on Le Sports, Le Video and Zhangyu TV. Additionally, an official website for the Stanković Continental Champions’ Cup will be launched on Le Sports as part of the contract.
Held in China since 2005, the Stanković Continental Champions’ Cup features men’s national teams. The 2016 tournament will be staged in Beijing from July 5-9 and will see China take on Argentina, France and Nigeria.
