Learfield adds Northern Arizona to US college portfolio

The Learfield Sports agency has agreed a multimedia rights partnership with the athletics department of Northern Arizona University in the US.

The 10-year deal will run from the 2017-18 athletic season through to the end of 2026-27.

Learfield will manage all television and digital coverage of the university’s Lumberjacks sports teams. The agency will also oversee coaches’ shows, the corporate partner programme and signage at NAU athletics events.

As part of the deal, Learfield will establish NAU Lumberjack Sports Properties, an on-campus team that will manage the rights.

Todd Wyard, who has served as NAU associate athletics director for marketing and sales since July 2013, will take on the role of general manager for the new division.

Learfield now has rights deals with nine members of the Big Sky Conference, including Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, North Dakota, Sacramento State and Weber State.
