L’Équipe, Eurosport claim rights to Track Cycling World Championships

French free-to-air sports broadcaster L'Équipe and sports broadcaster Eurosport have acquired rights to the 2018 Track Cycling World Championships.

Free-to-air rights to the Championships in France have traditionally been held by public-service broadcaster France Télévisions, but will revert to L'Équipe for this year’s event, which takes place in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands from February 28 to March 4.

L'Équipe said television coverage will be offered from March 1-4, with live streaming to be provided via its website for the opening days of action. Eurosport has extended its deal for pay-television rights to the event.

Eurosport also holds pay-television rights to the 2018 Road Cycling World Championships, with France Télévisions providing free-to-air coverage. The event takes place in Innsbruck, Austria from September 22-30.
