Stephan Herth, senior vice-president of football at the Infront agency, is to step down from his position, following 17 years at the agency.
The Wanda Sports-owned agency announced this morning that Herth will leave his position at the end of June, with the agency stating that he will support the transition in a consultancy role from July 1.
Infront said that Herth (pictured) has chosen to leave his position.
Herth said: “My career with Infront has been incredibly fulfilling and I was able to experience almost every aspect of the global sports business. After 17 years working for Infront and following the successful reorganisation implemented last year, I am confident that this is now the right time for me to embark upon new challenges within the industry.”
Infront’s major structural reorganisation was unveiled in September last year. As part of the structural reform, Herth became a member of a 17-person Group Management Board (GMB).
Herth joined Infront in 2003 as senior vice-president of media and headed up the agency’s 2006 Fifa World Cup media-rights sales process.
He went on to become Infront’s senior vice-president of summer sports, holding that role until an organisational restructuring in 2017 that saw the agency separate the combined Football and Summer Sports units from a management and leadership perspective. At that time, Julien Ternisien came on board as director of summer sports as Herth elected to focus solely on football.
Herth was also on the board of several Infront Group companies.
In his time as senior vice-president of football, Infront has represented over 40 football properties, including Fifa, Lega Calcio and the German Football Association (DFB).
Infront president and chief executive officer Philippe Blatter said: “We owe a significant debt to Stephan as well as considerable recognition for his achievements for the Infront Group. He leaves our football business ready for the future and I wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”
Herth becomes the fourth senior executive in six months to step away from the company, following Claude Ruibal, Wolfgang Streit and Rainer Marte. Marte continues to work with Infront on a consultancy basis on its motor sports business and remains in charge of managing his existing client base in the motor sports sector.
