Match TV secures rights to FIS Cross-Country World Cup

Russian sports media platform Match TV has acquired rights to the 2016-17 season of International Ski Federation (FIS) competition the Cross-Country World Cup.

The agreement was struck ahead of the opening round of the new campaign, which took place in Ruka, Finland at the weekend.

Russian Cross-Country Ski Association president Yelena Välbe had earlier suggested the World Cup was set to commence without coverage as Match TV had refused to fund the acquisition of rights.
