Mediapro chief wants to make football cheaper on Gol TV

Jaume Roures, the director of Mediapro, said the Spanish agency would like to offer live football matches via its Gol TV pay-television service for less than €1 ($1.31) per game, according to the ADSLZone website.

Roures said he wanted to make games available for an “even cheaper price” to drive subscriptions and added that he expected Gol TV to have three million subscribers by the end of 2013.

The Mediapro director said that the agency wanted to take football to viewers through “all possible windows, including the internet, mobile and television, at an affordable price and on a global basis.” Mediapro launched Gol TV three years ago via cable and the internet, and the channel started broadcasting on digital-terrestrial-television in August 2009.
