The Mediapro agency blocked the signal of its pay-television football channel Gol TV to 474 bars across Spain last weekend which it suspected had unauthorised access to the channel.
The bars face legal action and fines. Mediapro has now blocked its signal from 6,650 bars across the country this season.
Public venues in Spain are only authorised to show Gol TV via its commercial service Gol Bar, which is available via digital terrestrial television, as well as cable, satellite and IPTV platforms.
The latest move by Mediapro against unauthorised users of Gol TV comes ahead of this Saturday’s El Clásico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
