Italian pay-television broadcaster Mediaset Premium has acquired rights for the A-League, the top division of football in Australia, following Alessandro del Piero’s move to Sydney FC.
Del Piero, an Italian national team and club football star, signed for Sydney during the close season after leaving Italian Serie A club Juventus.
Mediaset Premium will provide live coverage of Del Piero’s first A-League game for Sydney this Saturday, October 6, at Wellington Phoenix. The match will kick off at 9.30am local time in Italy.
Mediaset Premium’s deal will run until at least the end of the 2012-13 season.
