Missouri Valley Conference follows ESPN deal with fresh CBS Sports contract

The CBS Sports division of US network CBS has signed a five-year sublicensing deal with sports broadcaster ESPN to continue showing the Missouri Valley Conference college sports league.

The deal will run from 2015-16 through to the end of the 2019-20 academic year.

CBS Sports agreed the deal with ESPN, which last week signed a long-term extension to its media rights deal with the MVC.

ESPN’s new contract with the second-oldest National Collegiate Athletics Association Division I conference runs for 10 years through until the end of the 2023-24 academic year.

CBS Sports will continue to broadcast the Missouri Valley Conference men’s basketball championship game, which it has aired for 10 consecutive years.

Arch Madness coverage extends to CBS Sports Network, which for the first time will televise the tournament semi-finals, as well as eight regular-season games per year.
