MSG Networks snatches Sabres extension

The parent company of North American NHL ice hockey franchise the Buffalo Sabres has signed a multi-year extension to its local rights deal with MSG Networks, the pay-television channel owned by Madison Square Garden Company.

MSG Networks will continue to serve as the exclusive regional telecast partner of the team and will broadcast live coverage of all Sabres games. The agreement includes pre- and post-match coverage.

MSG Networks brokered the agreement with Pegula Sports and Entertainment, a management company that owns the Sabres, as well as a number of other professional sports teams, including NFL American football franchise the Buffalo Bills.

Through the deal, MSG Networks will also broadcast a selection of Bills programming, including ‘Bills All Access’ and ‘Bills Tonight’.

Terms of the long-term agreement were not disclosed.
