MTG appoints new sports chief

Peter Nørrelund has been appointed as the new head of sport at Modern Times Group, the multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster.

Nørrelund has assumed the role as part of a promotion to the position of executive vice-president of the group’s Nordic pay-TV broadcasting operations.

The company said that Nørrelund would be responsible for the group’s sports production, broadcasting and channel operations.

He has worked for MTG since 2003 and served as chief executive of the group’s Danish sports operations, with responsibility for negotiating the majority of the group’s sports rights acquisitions.
