MTG lands Ice Hockey World Championship rights in Norway

Swedish media company Modern Times Group has acquired rights in Norway to the 2018 Ice Hockey World Championship.

The 2018 World Championship takes place in Denmark from May 4-20 and MTG has secured the exclusive rights to the tournament from the Infront agency, which markets the event’s commercial rights on behalf of the International Ice Hockey Federation.

Norway’s matches and the tournament playoffs will be broadcast by pay-television channel Viasat 4, while the Championship will be covered in its entirety by video-streaming service Viaplay.

Norway will commence its Championship campaign against Latvia on May 5.
