MTG nets Premier League rights extension in Baltic markets

Modern Times Group, the multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster, has extended its exclusive rights to English Premier League football in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The deal covers all platforms and will run for three seasons, from 2013-14 season to 2015-16.

Approximately 100 matches per season will be broadcast with local commentary on the premium pay-television sports channel Viasat Sport Baltic.

MTG will also get access to additional programmes featuring highlights, profiles and analysis.

The rights were acquired from Turkey-based agency Saran Media.

MTG has broadcast the Premier League in the Baltics since the start of the 2010-11 season.
