NBA extends digital content partnership in Germany

North American basketball league the NBA has agreed a multi-year extension to a digital content partnership in Germany with Spox.com, the online streaming website owned by digital sports media company Perform.

Spox.com will continue to work with the league to provide video content to the NBA’s German-facing NBA.de website.

NBA.de offers live streams of matches as well as daily and weekly video highlights. Coverage of the 2016 season will be expanded to include a live stream of the NBA All-Star Game end-of-season marquee event.

In addition, Spox.com will now offer a mobile optimised experience, which includes an increased number of daily video clips and customised content tailored to fans in Germany.

Spox.com will also continue to offer its weekly ‘Fastbreak’ online programme as well as the ‘Triangle Offence’ series.

Dirk Ifsen, managing director of Perform in Germany, said: “Since the beginning of the partnership in 2012, we have seen a significant increase in both fan engagement and interest in the sport in Germany. Using our experienced editorial team, we will continue to offer fans the most compelling and original NBA news.”
