NBA teams up with L’Equipe for new online platform

North American basketball league the NBA has partnered with French sports daily L’Équipe to launch an official online platform in the country.

Launching to coincide with the start of the 2015-16 NBA season, nba.com/france will be hosted in a dedicated section of lequipe.fr and will feature a range of multimedia content including videos, highlights, localised in-language editorial and real-time statistics. Fans who visit nba.com in France will be automatically redirected to nba.com/france.

Throughout the season, nba.com/france will provide fans with extensive video highlights, including individual game recaps, the Top 10 Plays of the Day and the Daily Zap, all with French commentary.

NBA EMEA digital director Xavier Bidault said: “L’Équipe is a sporting institution in France, and as they look to diversify their digital offering, we are excited to partner with them to enhance the NBA experience for our fans in France.”

The nba.com/france is the NBA’s 18th international web platform. The NBA was the first professional sports league in the US to offer specific international websites for fans with the launch of nba.com/japan in 1999. The NBA.com website averages more than 42m page views per day, more than half of which originate from outside of North America.
