NBL TV nets EuroLeague streaming rights

NBL TV, the subscription-based OTT channel operated by Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL), has reached an agreement to stream live coverage of Euroleague Basketball competitions during the 2019-20 season.

Each week, NBL TV will provide live coverage of up to four selected EuroLeague games. The service will also provide highlights of all games, as well as condensed game replays which will be available on demand.

Australian players that will feature in EuroLeague competitions during the forthcoming season will include Jock Landale (pictured, Zalgiris Kaunas), Scottie Wilbekin (Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv), Jacob Wiley (Panathinaikos OPAP Athens) and Brock Motum (Valencia Basket).

Euroleague Basketball’s marketing and communication senior director, Alex Ferrer Kristjansson, said: “Australian players have had a continuous presence in our competitions, showing the good level of Australian basketball and the enormous work developed by NBL.

“This is a clear example of how two basketball organisations can improve their reach by collaborating together, creating synergies that positively impact the fan.”

NBL TV provides live coverage of every game from the NBL season, along with replays and over 300 hours of classic games.

A subscription to the service is priced at AUD$5 (€3.05/$3.40) per month.

Another EuroLeague rights agreement was announced last month as direct-to-consumer sports streaming service DAZN extended an agreement in Brazil until the end of the 2022-23 season.
