New player enters the fray for World Cup rights in Senegal

L’Obs TV, a broadcaster recently formed by Senegalese media company Groupe Futur Médias, has acquired rights in the country to the 2018 Fifa World Cup national team football tournament.

The Agence Ecofin news agency said l’Obs TV has acquired the rights through a partnership with African pay-television broadcaster Kwesé TV.

Public-service broadcaster RTS had previously held exclusive rights to the World Cup in Senegal.

The national team has qualified for this year’s finals in Russia and has been drawn alongside Poland, Colombia and Japan in Group H.
