New Slovakia sports channel set for October launch

Slovakian media company Elements Channel is to launch a new sports channel in the country next month, according to the MediaLne.sk news website.

213 will commit 80 percent of programming to coverage of domestic sport including club football in Slovakia. Remaining programming will be dedicated to local cultural shows.

René Stern, who previously worked for the Slovakian division of pay-television broadcaster Digi Sport, will serve as chief editor of television at 213. Adriana Hosťovecká, also formerly of Digi Sport, will become marketing manager.

Elements Channel acquired a licence from the Slovakian Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission in July.
