New Taiwan office to service MP & Silva’s CPBL partnership

The MP & Silva agency has launched its first office in Taiwan in order to service its new partnership with the Chinese Professional Baseball League.

MP & Silva last month struck a deal to distribute the domestic and global media rights to the CPBL, the top baseball division in Taiwan, for six years, from 2014 to 2019.

In conjunction with the opening of its new office, MP & Silva has appointed country director Jammie Chen to head the Taiwan market, in addition to Anthony Yu as executive producer to oversee its sports production initiatives.

Chen will be primarily responsible for overseeing MP & Silva’s relationship with CPBL, developing new commercial opportunities, in addition to business functions related to sales, marketing, production and operations. Chen will be based in Taiwan and will report directly to Beatrice Lee, managing director of MP & Silva in the Asia-Pacific region.

Lee said: “The availability of expanded CPBL media rights in Taiwan will introduce a new competitive edge to the sports media industry, and we believe fans will ultimately benefit from this as the real winner. With an optimistic outlook of the CPBL, we look forward to reaching new heights in partnership with the league.”
