NFL’s Raiders sign up rights partner in Las Vegas

The Oakland Raiders NFL American football franchise has signed a regional rights deal with KVVU FOX5 TV, an affiliate of media company 21st Century Fox that is available in Las Vegas.

FOX5 will be the exclusive regional television rights-holder for the Raiders over three years, from the 2017 season through to the end of the 2019 campaign.

FOX5 will have rights to all Raiders pre-season games that are not broadcast by a national network partner. The deal covers all four of the Raiders’ upcoming pre-season games ahead of the 2017 season.

In addition, FOX5 will broadcast the ‘Silver and Black’ weekly magazine programme that includes game previews, player interviews and feature pieces.

The deal comes ahead of the team’s scheduled relocation to Las Vegas. The move is expected to go through in time for the 2019 NFL season, with the Raiders to play at a new stadium in the Nevada city.
