NFL American football franchise the Pittsburgh Steelers have launched a new HD video product offering team-produced content to fans for free.
The Steelers DeskSite serves as a personalised video recorder and content library for Steelers HD video. The platform offers new technology specifically designed for laptops, desktops and tablets, instead of smartphones.
The platform automatically downloads and stores videos directly to users' devices, allowing fans to view content without having to be connected to the Internet.
In addition, the Steelers DeskSite operates as a central hub for aggregated access to Steelers digital content, including the Steelers.com website, and the team's official Facebook and Twitter posts.
The Steelers have delivered the new service in partnership with DeskSite. The California-based digital media company is engaged in similar partnerships with 19 other NFL teams.
