Olympic Channel details plans for Lausanne’s Youth Olympics

The Olympic Channel, the International Olympic Committee’s OTT platform, has said it will provide 300 hours of coverage of the 2020 winter Youth Olympic Games, which takes place in Lausanne, Switzerland from January 9-22.

The Olympic Channel will produce live and on-demand event streaming of the third edition of the winter YOG, a dedicated Games Channel and daily live show.

The Olympic Channel’s multi-platform coverage will be available in all territories worldwide and begins on January 9 with the opening ceremony live from the Olympic capital of Lausanne. Additional programming includes ‘digital-first’ content that aims to be inspiring, entertaining, relevant and accessible to the participating athletes and that appeals to a global audience.

Mary Byrne, editor-in-chief of the Olympic Channel, said: “The Olympic Channel’s coverage of Lausanne 2020 ensures a worldwide audience for the YOG and will kick off an important year for our team as our daily coverage of Olympic sports and athletes continues to build toward next summer’s Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.”

In other news, Lausanne 2020 has announced several new partners for next year’s Games. They include SIL (electricity services), the BCV (bank), Gruyère (cheese), Van Wagner (sports presentation), Prinoth (snowmobile and snow groomers), Gotham (co-working space management), and AISTS (educational institute).
