Pan-African pay-television operator StarTimes has acquired rights for the One Championship mixed martial arts series.
StarTimes will broadcast live coverage of One Championship events via its Sports Arena channel.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but StarTimes vice-president Madam Guo Ziqi said that One Championship would be showcased as “flagship content” in Africa.
Victor Cui, chief executive of One Championship, added: “One Championship continues to push the boundaries of mixed martial arts in Asia by extending our reach to fans of the sport in Africa. There is huge potential for growth in Africa and obviously in China where we have focused our efforts.”
