One World Sports acquires Japanese baseball rights

US Asia-focused sports network One World Sports has acquired exclusive rights to the home games of Japanese baseball side Hiroshima Carp, which competes in the top-tier Nippon Professional Baseball league.

One World Sports will show 28 Hiroshima Carp home matches, including nine games against the Yomiuiri Giants, one of Japan’s most popular clubs. Hiroshima Carp competes in the six-team Central League circuit, the winner of which takes on the winner of the Pacific League in the season-ending Japan Series, the title championship series of the Nippon Professional Baseball league.

The current league season began in March and culminates with the Japan Series in October.
