The Optima Sports Management International agency has acquired free-to-air rights in Sub-Saharan Africa for the English Premier League, the top division of football in the country.
The deal will run for three years, from 2013-14 to 2015-16, and covers 50 countries, including South Africa.
The agency struck the deal directly with the league.
Optima also acquired the league’s free-to-air rights in Sub-Saharan Africa for the previous two rights cycles, from 2007-08 to 2009-10 and then 2010-11 to 2012-13.
Financial details were not disclosed.
