OSN snaps up Bellator, Asia Cup rights

Pay-television broadcaster OSN has acquired rights in the Middle East and North Africa for the Bellator mixed martial arts series and the Asia Cup international cricket tournament, which begins today (Tuesday).

OSN will start showing Bellator events from this Friday.

OSN’s vice-president of sports and production, Andy Warkman, said that the agreement was a “multi-year deal,” but did not disclose exact details.

OSN, which operates five sports channels and provides coverage in Arabic and English, will also show live coverage of the Asia Cup One-Day International tournament on its OSN Sports Cricket HD channel.

OSN will also show live coverage of the upcoming International Cricket Council World Twenty20 national team cricket tournament, which will also take place in Bangladesh. Further details of OSN’s coverage of the Twenty20 tournament, which will start on March 16, will be announced in the coming days.
