Paralympic rights deal extended in New Zealand

New Zealand public-service broadcaster TVNZ and production company Attitude Pictures have extended a rights deal with the International Paralympic Committee for coverage of para sport events.

The new deal will run until the 2020 summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo and will also cover the 2018 winter Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang.

Both companies provided coverage of last year’s Rio Paralympics, which were watched by 2.2 million viewers in the country.

TVNZ will provide extensive free-to-air coverage on television and digital channels while the AttitudeLive.com website will also provide coverage.

Coverage will be co-produced by TVNZ and Attitude Pictures with the assistance of Paralympics New Zealand.
